Signs are everywhere.

I believe in signs. Signs are everywhere.

After having gone through difficult months lately, I’d have to say that signs played (and still playing) a very big role in my life, navigating challenges and helping me with emotional, mental and spiritual recovery.

Signs have taught me to Trust. But trust isn’t something that we easily have due to our high dependency on the mind and external reality to tell us where we are headed and what the outcome is. We’ve been conditioned that everything has to be logical, rational and backed by data or evidence to prove that it’s working or have worked for the general collective. Otherwise, we would write it off.

Although signs appear in the external reality, their meanings are related to what we feel, deep in our heart and soul. Meanings that nobody else can comprehend and understand its significance but only us. This is because signs are one of the ways in which the Divine communicates with us in our external reality.

Communication with the Divine is often through our intuition, and its messages are felt in our physical body or a deep knowing in our heart. An inner experience. However, we are constantly distracted by the outside world and the loud voices of our mind that we seldom attune to our intuition and hear its soft voice and nudges. And so, we keep praying, sending in our requests to the Divine for help and answers. Sometimes we even say, “Please give me a CLEAR sign!” and every once in a while, the Divine throws us a sign in our external reality, so we can see it.

However, the signs – the answers – are never direct and straight to the point, lol! The Divine likes to play silly games with us; it may even have a sense of humour. Probably it wants us to lighten up and not take life too seriously!

Signs are never in the exact outcome that you’ve been praying or manifesting for. They are often simple and may come in the forms of repeated numbers, feathers, a coin/money note on the street, birds, butterflies or other animals, images, words or dialogues that only YOU know the meaning that is related to your situation.

A butterfly on my balcony on the day after a challenging situation which left me feeling distraught. The butterfly stayed on my balcony for a very long time. Interestingly, I encountered the same in 2017, two weeks after I quit my corporate job and the day before I departed for a media trip to Nepal as a travel blogger 🙂

For several months, I’ve been seeing repeated numbers like crazy! 111/1111, 222, 333, 444, 555 and sequences like 1212, 1313, 1010, 1515, 1717. 1818, 2020, 2323. I’ve been seeing them on social media ‘Like’ count, timestamps on my laptop and mobile phone, car plate numbers, mobile phone numbers, TAC codes and page numbers. As I write this blog post, 555- and 777-word count appeared at the bottom of the laptop screen!

These repeated numbers are “angel numbers” and some have special meaning. The internet has numerous articles on every number sequence but you don’t have to overload your mind with those. Let me summarize for you instead: Repeated angel numbers are one of the ways the Divine and the angels are communicating with you. Through those numbers, they are reminding you to:

  • Check in with yourself: Are you keeping a positive mindset while your prayers are being answered and your manifestations are being worked on behind-the-scenes?
  • Remember that you are exactly where you need to be. Even when you don’t have all the answers, just keep going forward with your heart open.
  • Know that you are surrounded and protected by the angels/ascended masters/your spirit guides. You are safe.
  • Hang in there while change and transformation are taking place. Trust.
  • Heal yourself and connect with your inner wisdom.
  • Know that your finances are being taken care of.
  • Know that it’s complete, whatever it may be.

Another sign through which the Divine and the angels communicate to us is feathers.

So, here’s an interesting story. A month ago, I saw a huge feather on my balcony. It was a day after I received an email (positive response) from the bank concerning legal documents about my apartment. While I was shocked by the speedy, positive response (despite the bureaucracy), I was still worried. Two days later, the issues were still looming over my head. I took a short nap on the sofa and when I woke up, I found the same feather next to the sofa! The wind might have blown the feather from the balcony into my living room but what are the odds of it landing right next to my feet when I got up from the sofa?! The following morning, I received a text message from the lawyer that all matters are resolved and a deposit of money is coming in. Now, was the feather a sign or what? 😊

The feather that flew into my living room next to the sofa.

Repeated angel numbers and feathers are examples but as mentioned earlier, there are many signs of all kinds. You don’t have to look for them to know if your prayers are being answered (hello, anyone up there listening to me??). No, just carry on with your life. Most of the time the signs appear when you least expect them. But when you do encounter them, remember to pause, give thanks and gratitude to the Divine and angels and observe how you feel. The more gratitude you give and the more you observe how you feel, your inner world shifts and the Divine will give you more of the same. Progressively, your external reality shifts.

However….

Having said all that, we must not be over-dependent on signs as answers to our prayers and manifestations because not all signs are YOUR signs. So, you may ask, how will I know which sign is meant for me?

The answer is, come back to your spiritual practice. Your spiritual practice is a solitude moment where you bring devotion to yourself and to the Divine. These are private moments of stillness, meditation, prayers and reflection through which you learn to develop TRUST within yourself and in the Divine as you navigate life’s trials and tribulations.

Through trust, you become more discerning. Although signs are everywhere, your sign or message will appear to you as per Divine timing. Through discernment, you will know which sign is meant for you.

Sometimes the Divine stops sending us signs. When this happens, don’t worry, you’re not left on a lurch. It’s a way to remind us to return to our inner wisdom and not use signs as a crutch. It’s a way of trusting ourselves and trust can only be developed through regular spiritual practice.

Therefore, no matter how useful signs are as nudges from the higher realms, we must still learn to trust and use our intuition and inner wisdom as GPS to each milestone on this journey of life. Other than that, signs are light and funny ways in which the Divine communicates to us that all is well and that we are never alone, for we are always divinely guided, protected and blessed.
